New $350 million paint plant revealed by Chrysler

Last month, Chrysler revealed its brand-new 425,000-square-foot paint plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The new plant, which is 85 percent complete, is part of the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, and is the first paint plant that Chrysler has built in more than 20 years. Although the Sterling facility almost shut down in 2010, this new plant is a sign that things are looking up for Chrysler. The Sterling plant currently builds the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger but the company would not reveal what vehicles will be painted at the new facility.
